BE ALERT: Hackers don't take holidays or vacations!

Departments should expect an uptick in phishing emails, calls, and other attempts against systems during the upcoming Fourth of July holiday and throughout the summer as cyber criminals seek to take advantage of reduced staffing levels.

Remind staff to remain cautious about phone calls, emails, links and attachments, and to contact IT staff immediately if they see anything suspicious.

IT staff should also be on alert to suspicious activity on networks, websites and other applications. They should continue to routinely update security patches, both internally and for remote equipment.

Visit  the Cyber Center for additional resources and links for cyber alerts, and contact CTREmergencyNotification@mass.gov with any incidents or suspected incidents of fraud or  cyber attacks.
