Do your phone apps have access to your photos?

cybersecurity tip of the week

Be careful when taking photos of sensitive documents with a smartphone because any application that has access to your photos will also have access to any sensitive information they may contain.

To find out which applications have access, go to your phone’s privacy or security settings and limit access to only selected photos, or turn it off completely. You can also password-protect specific photos so that these do not appear in your photo library, or use your smartphone provider’s instructions to encrypt them.
