Important information for departments pertaining to coronavirus

A rendering of a coronavirus virus

The Office of the Comptroller (CTR) is monitoring the latest guidance on the coronavirus. Given the Governor’s most up-to-date guidance on the subject, CTR is preparing a contingency plan for potential impacts to statewide staffing levels or systems. We do not expect major disruptions to core CTR functions.

Payroll and Payments

CTR does not anticipate a disruption in our ability to process statewide payroll and payments.

Contracts

Departments are encouraged to expedite the processing of outstanding contracts, particularly if their staffing levels become a concern. This will ensure that departments take maximum advantage of Prompt Payment Discounts.

Solution Desk

The CTR Solution Desk is prepared to handle a potential increase in calls and email. All calls should continue to come in as normal to 617-973-2468 or [email protected]. Our goal is to respond within 24 hours. The Solution Desk is staffed 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday.

Learning & Development

CTR offers a large number of webinar and self-paced training courses that are not affected. At this time, we have not cancelled small-group, instructor-led, in-classroom training. We will communicate any changes to our training schedule as needed. We have implemented healthy workplace practices in our training room.

Those participants who are unable to attend a course are asked to un-enroll in the CTR Learning Management System. Contact [email protected] for assistance with rescheduling if necessary.

Enterprise Systems

At this time, we expect MMARS, HR/CMS, and the Commonwealth Information Warehouse (CIW), will continue to be available. It is essential that each department proactively verify that staff members who need access to these systems remotely are able to log in, via VPN or otherwise. Departments should contact their own systems support to ensure the availability of remote access. This includes ensuring that equipment being used to access enterprise systems is secure.

Security

Department staff are reminded that, whether they are working remotely or in the office, sensitive information, including personally identifiable information, must be encrypted before being emailed or otherwise transmitted.

We will continue to provide updates via this email communication, and MAComptroller.org.
